Rights & takedown
qBary publishes plain-language summaries of how books end and spoiler-safe recaps of where a series stands. We want to be a good citizen of the book world — here is how we handle other people's material, and how to reach us if something needs to come down.
Cover images
Book cover thumbnails are retrieved from Open Library, from OverDrive, the library lending service behind Libby, and from Google Books. They are shown at small size purely to help readers identify a title. qBary does not claim any ownership of cover artwork; the copyright in each cover remains with its publisher, designer, or the artist or photographer whose work it incorporates. If you hold rights to a cover and would like it removed, email us and it will be taken down.
Borrowing links
Where a book is available through OverDrive, qBary links to that title's page on Libby, which shows readers the libraries near them that lend it. These are ordinary links to OverDrive's own share pages. Short blurbs shown for reader-added books also come from OverDrive's catalog — they are the publishers' own promotional copy. qBary is not affiliated with OverDrive and earns nothing from these links.
Endings and refreshers
The ending and refresher text on qBary is original editorial writing that describes plot facts. Facts about a story are not themselves copyrightable, and these summaries are written to inform, not to substitute for reading the book. Every ending is checked claim-by-claim against independent reference material before it is published. If you believe a summary reproduces protected expression or contains an error, let us know.
How to request removal or a correction
Email with the page URL, the material at issue, and — for a rights request — enough detail to confirm you hold the rights. We aim to respond and, where appropriate, remove the material promptly.
No affiliation
qBary is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any author, publisher, or retailer. Links to buy a book may be affiliate links.
